The Fall Challenge!
If you are Alliance, I am sure you have read The Knowledge of the Holy by A.W. Tozer. But when was the last time you have read it?
A.W. Tozer once said, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” So… let me ask you the obvious question: What comes into your mind when you think about God? Most of us have a “Frankengod” picture of God: a verse here, a thought from a sermon there, add some social media rant, a political talking head, my depraved common sense, and a quote from Sponge Bob, all gives us a picture of God that is a bit less than who he really is.

I know we are all credentialed workers, but we are also discipleship victims of our culture. We continually need a clear dosage of the truth to counteract all of the twisted views we daily digest.

Tozer’s book, The Knowledge of the Holy is twenty-three, short chapters (6 pages) long. Each chapter is a different facet of God’s character – and how it relates to us! This will be our text!
Here’s the challenge:
-
Go to the link below and purchase your copy of “The Knowledge of the Holy” ASAP!
-
Pick up a spiral notebook and pen!
THEN, for the next month, take off your sandals because we will be on Holy ground as we study the God who wants to be known!

-
Each morning, read one chapter with pen in hand! Then, write out a prayer to God that reflects what you’ve learned. That’s it. Since the chapters are so short it won’t take you but a few minutes to read.
-
By the end of the month what comes into your head when you think about God will be much more God-honoring; and bible-reflecting; and life-changing.

BONUS: Ask your elders, board, Sunday School class, person you are discipling, spouse, kids, etc. to join you on this journey. Then meet up on a regular basis to discuss your thoughts. I’m guessing you won’t be sad that you did.
