Cultivating a Great Commission perspective in our WGLD families helps shape the next generation of Christ-followers. As children learn about God’s work around the world and develop a heart for praying for the nations, they are more likely to carry that passion into adulthood and pass it on to their own children—creating a legacy of prayer and participation in God’s global mission.
Hey, families! Your Thanksgiving mission is here!
Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to count our blessings and thank God for all the good things He has given us. But did you know that we can also use our thankful hearts to bless others?
Around the world, our International Workers (IWs) are serving God, sharing His love, helping people, and telling others about Jesus. Some are celebrating Thanksgiving far away from their families, and many would love to know that someone is praying for them!

STUFF THE TURKEY with prayers for our IWs!
Light Up the World! is a fun Christmas prayer activity that helps families celebrate the birth of Jesus while remembering our WGLD International Workers (IWs) serving around the world.
Together, children and parents will create colorful Christmas lights, each representing a special prayer for an IW, their family, or the people they serve.
As you choose a light, read the name, choose a prayer request, and pray together, you’ll be reminded that even from far away, your family can make a difference through prayer. This Christmas, let’s shine the light of Jesus around the world, one prayer at a time!
A fall family activity would be to print off these two pages that encourage praying for our district (WGLD) IW's (international workers). All of our IW's are divided into one of 4 groups designated by a different color of apple. Choose a color and pray for those IW's. Watch your apple tree be filled with apples as you continue to pray for our IW's! Click on the two pictures to print your own copy.
Teaching our children to daily pray for God's global work is easy with these cards that were made specifically for our WGLD IW's. Simply print off the cards (firmer paper will work best), cut them out, and have your children pray the requests for each day. Click on the two pictures to print your own copy.
